Solid Waste Management Programs at Forbes Park

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, Forbes Park implements the following solid waste management programs:

1. Mandatory Waste Segregation
All households are required to properly segregate their waste.

- Wet waste must be separated from dry waste.

- Biodegradable materials must be separated from non-biodegradable materials.

2. Recyclable Waste Collection Program
Residents are encouraged to drop off clean and dry plastic bottles and single-use plastics during the following schedules:

- 1st and 3rd Wednesdays: Barangay Covered Court (North Forbes Park)

- 2nd and 4th Wednesdays: Near Mini Park, Tamarind corner Pili (South Forbes Park)

Drop-off hours are from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Collected plastics are turned over to our partner, Berdeng Kalabaw, with the assistance of Barangay Forbes Park. Residents may also donate clean and dry Tetra Pak cartons during these collections.

In exchange for recyclables—including plastics, single-use plastics, and old appliances—residents can receive cash or points.

3. Toxic and Hazardous Waste Collection Assistance
To promote the safe disposal of toxic and hazardous waste, Forbes Park coordinates with the Makati Department of Environmental Services (DES).
A designated Toxic and Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Point is located at the FPA Administration Office.

Please note:

- All toxic and hazardous waste drop-offs must be coordinated in advance with the FPA Administration to ensure proper handling and arrangements.

- Examples of toxic and hazardous waste include batteries, electronic waste, fluorescent lamps, and household chemicals.

4. Leaf Shredding Program (Household/Backyard Composting)
Residents are encouraged to compost their biodegradable garden waste through household or backyard composting.

5. Community Composting Initiatives
Biodegradable garden waste collected from common areas and residents is processed through composting at designated alleys. The resulting compost is used to fertilize Forbes Park's landscaped areas.

The Forbes Park Association Administration is also available to assist residents by providing guidance on how to start their own backyard composting systems, helping to significantly reduce the volume of waste hauled out of Forbes Park.
